The post Wine Reviews: Mini Round-Up for December 9, 2024 appeared first on 1 Wine Dude. I taste a bunch-o-wine (technical term for more than most people). So each week, I share some of my wine reviews (mostly from samples) and tasting notes in a “mini-review” format. 2022 Alkina Kin Shiraz Barossa Valley

This is a solid new find in the Costco wine aisle and one that we enjoyed quite a bit. This bottle is $17.19 at Costco which looks to be at least $5 or so less than other outlets, and it received 92 points from Wine Advocate. Once we got into it we found a wine … Source : https://costcowineblog.com/2022-alkina-kin-shiraz-barossa-valley/

Choice California Cabernet Sauvignon: Napa, Paso Robles, & Santa Cruz Mountains

Cabernet Sauvignon is often the wine lover’s favorite wine, and Napa Valley is America’s most famous region for growing Cabernet Sauvignon, but excellent wines are also grown elsewhere.  Paso Robles, especially, has come to the fore as reflected in the jaw-dropping $1 billion sale of Daou Vineyards earlier this year. And outstanding mountain wines are produced in the Santa Cruz …

Lionel Faury St.-Joseph Les Ribaudes 2022 $38 (93 points)

A dark, inky version, with a brooding core of black raspberry and cassis underscored by salt, iron and bread. Firmly structured, with sanguine notes of herbs, saucisson and smoke that show real power. The finish is held taut by muscular yet refined black tea tannins that need time to unwind. Drink now through 2032. 936 cases imported. Source : f2aab1d7e29b37456d6d0b8566bef707

2023 North Wind Vidal Icewine

Sneaking in a quickie here after Thanksgiving when we enjoyed this Canadian Icewine. We’ve tasted and reviewed a few of these before and they’ve always been a fun change of pace. Dutton-Goldfield Autumn 2024 Releases

Green Valley Redwoods The California coast’s 2022 vintage began with welcome winter rains, an early bud break and moderate temperatures until the (now) usual Labor Day heat spike, which put to the test the skills of growers to protect fruit and of winemakers to harvest at optimal ripeness. As they say, the proof is in the pudding, or wine in …

2022 Domaine de la Galopiere Cuvee Perle Rare Bourgogne

We are always down for trying new Burgundies when they arrive at Costco and this was a new one we ran into. Costco’s price at $22.99 is about what we found the wine selling for online, and Vivino showed an average price of $22.61. So perhaps not much of a deal here for buying at … Source : https://costcowineblog.com/2022-domaine-de-la-galopiere-cuvee-perle-rare-bourgogne/
