• 2020 Rio Grande Vineyards & Winery ‘El Santo’ Red (Mesilla Valley): A pleasing onslaught of tangy red cherries. $NA B
• 2023 Lescombes Family Vineyards ‘Heritage’ Pinot Noir (New Mexico): Baskets of ripe, fresh strawberries for the taking. $34 B+
• 2019 Luna Rosa Winery Aglianico (New Mexico): Crowd pleasing combo of currant compote, cloves, and cinnamon. $NA B+
• 2020 Luna Rosa Winery Merlot (Mimbres Valley): Savory, beefy, and pushing everything to its theoretical limits. $20 B
• 2020 Luna Rosa Winery Sangiovese (Mimbres Valley): The cherries are on point, even if the power is a bit on the forceful side. $22 B
• 2020 Luna Rosa Winery Tempranillo (Mimbres Valley): Balanced, spicy, and fresh proof that Temp is becoming one of the world’s best-traveled vars lately. $20 B+
• 2018 Chronic Cellars ‘Sir Real’ Cabernet Sauvignon (Paso Robles): Charging energetically into battle with a phalanx of red fruit and cocoa. $18 B+
• 2014 Herzog Wine Cellars Variations French Oak Cabernet Sauvignon (North Coast): On the way out, but it’s a flashy, bright, smoky, spicy, thrilling exit of a performance (& one that proved the naysayers wrong). $35 A-
• 2021 Domaine Bousquet ‘Cameleon’ Signature Cabernet Sauvignon (Tupungato): Eager mix of licorice, black fruit, leather, and grip! $20 B+
• 2023 Domaine Bousquet Malbec (Tupungato): Tasty blue fruits for daaaayyyyyyssssss… $12 B
