
Flowering wisteria vines abound at Filoli….here it is pictured in full bloom clinging to the walls of the Bourn-Roth mansion on the estate grounds. The vines can climb as high as 20 ft. above ground and spread out 10 ft. laterally.
Wisteria is named after Dr. Caspar Wistar (1761-1818), a professor of anatomy at the University of Pennsylvania.
