I wasn’t sure whether wine grapes could survive in Nevada, so the first rows were planted using T-posts to support the trellis wires. Later rows used standard trellis posts.

 

Now years later, we have Cabernet sauvignon, Cabernet franc, Merlot, Petit verdot, Malbec, Touriga nacional, Syrah, and a few test vines of Riesling, Frontenac and Marquette.
