I taste a bunch-o-wine (technical term for more than most people). So each week, I share some of my wine reviews (mostly from samples) and tasting notes in a “mini-review” format.
They are meant to be quirky, fun, and (mostly) easily-digestible reviews of (mostly) currently available wines (click here for the skinny on how to read them), so you can get right to the point and decide if they’re for you (or not). Cheers!

- 2021 Merry Edwards Georganne Pinot Noir, Russian River Valley): Bright red fruits, and dark, dark spices. Hints of smoked meat, an almost iron-like minerality, and a palate that feels light but has power and rich flavor; interesting, and intellectual as much as it’s hedonistic. A
- 2021 Merry Edwards Winery Dach Pinot Noir (Anderson Valley): Rich with just ripened cherry, black cherry and dusty spice, raspberry, long tea-like tannins, and savory notes. Dang, this is banging. $75 A
- 2020 Raeburn Pinot Noir (Russian River Valley): Erring on the side of silkiness, with delicious results. $25 B+
- 2019 689 Cellars ‘Killer Drop’ Red (California): Dropping lots of ripe, woody, juicy fruit bombs. $35 B+
- 2020 Stinson Meritage Blanc (Monticello): A floral, ripe citrus, figgy, and viscous tribute to its Bordeaux inspiration. $35 B+
- 2022 Stinson Vineyards Sauvignon Blanc (Monticello): Lemon all over the place, green herbal notes and pepper, and surprisingly filling texture given the low abv… Welcome tot he Big Leagues, guys! $35 A-
