Exploring different types of rosé wine can be daunting. The belief that dark rosé means cheap and sweet is still widely repeated, followed by the claim that rosé has to be drunk young and fresh because it does not age.
Despite both claims being repeatedly disproved, any rosé which dares to be different is regarded as difficult and unusual. For producers it can be depressing as they attempt to compete against the marketing success of Provence and Provence-style wines.
